These terms apply when you use abongstays.com, as a guest or as a host. By creating an account or making a booking you agree to them.
What Abong does
Abong is a marketplace. We list stays, hold dates, check listings and payout accounts, and help when something goes wrong. The stay itself is between the guest and the host: the host runs the place and the guest pays the host directly.
For guests
- Holding dates reserves them for a limited time while you pay the host’s downpayment and upload the receipt. Unpaid holds end on their own.
- Pay only to the verified accounts shown on your booking page. Abong is not responsible for money sent anywhere else.
- Your booking is confirmed when the host confirms your payment. The balance is paid to the host at check-in.
- Each listing’s cancellation policy, shown before you book, decides refunds. Refunds are made by the host.
- Follow the house rules, and leave the place as you found it.
For hosts
- List only places you’re allowed to rent out, with accurate photos, prices, rules and availability.
- Abong charges a fee on bookings made through Abong (shown on the Become a host page and your Credits page), taken from prepaid credits when you confirm a guest’s payment. Bookings you log yourself and bookings through your Pro page carry no fee.
- Credits, Pro and featured spots are paid in advance through PayMongo and are non-refundable once used, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Confirm or reject payments promptly. If you don’t, Abong may step in to settle the booking.
- Honour confirmed bookings and your cancellation policy. Repeated problems can lead to your listings being paused or removed.
Everyone
- Use your real name, photo and contact details, and keep your sign-in private.
- Don’t post anything false, unlawful or offensive, or use Abong to arrange bookings off the platform to avoid fees.
- Reviews must be honest and about a real stay.
- We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
Limits of responsibility
We work to keep listings accurate and payouts verified, but we don’t own or run the stays and can’t guarantee every detail. To the extent the law allows, Abong isn’t liable for losses arising from a stay, beyond the fees you paid us.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; we’ll give notice of meaningful changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines. Questions: hello@abongstays.com.
